Salt canyon / Salt hills

The Salt Canyon / Salt hills, a geologically protected natural area, is located in Harghita County, between Ocna de Jos and Praid.

Salt is present everywhere, we are above the mountain of salt in which the salt mine in the Praid salt mine digs deep.

The rain washes away the salt and creates some landscapes that seem to come from another planet

Under the thin layer of soil we find salt everywhere

If we look more closely at the paths dug by rainwater that dissolve the salt, we find the same landscape as if from another world with big crystals and contrasting colors.

For a short period of time, human intervention can be seen, but probably with the next rain, it will vanish away
